My blogging new year’s resolutions for 2015

IMG_0627I write this blog because I love talking about food, and I am so proud of the fact that some of you like reading about it as well. I have had some wonderful experiences thanks to It’s not easy being greedy, and here I am, over 2 years after starting the blog, still finding things to write about.

So what does the future hold for It’s not easy being greedy? Here are my blogging new year’s resolutions, although firstly I’d love it if you want to share with me any suggestions about what you would like me to write about: more recipes, more cake, less blog posts?! Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments below.

It’s wonderful each time I discover that someone new is following me. I’d love to get 1000 followers on Twitter, and 500 likes on my Facebook page, plus more people subscribing to the blog directly. The way to do that is of course to write good content which people are interested in reading, but it also helps to engage more with brands and other bloggers, so I want to dedicate some time to doing that every day. I also need to start using my Google+ page – I just need to figure out how it works!

I average one post per week at the moment, but I’d like to try and find the time to write two posts each week. I am hoping to get more content by randomly picking one of my cookbooks each week and cooking a recipe from it. I think I said I’d do that last year as well, and failed miserably, but I really must stop relying on tried and tested favourites (I am looking at you Nigella) and broaden my culinary horizons.

IMG_0559I am planning to start my ‘cookbook corner’ with a Mexican feast, using my lovely new cookbook I received from Andrew for Christmas: sopa de lima (lime soup) and slow cooked pork with pickles and tacos. Stay tuned for the recipes.

Here are some other goodies that I plan to make this year, so if you have any tips please do share:

  • Beef Wellington (with homemade puff pastry)
  • Sushi
  • Confit duck leg
  • Dimsum
  • Macarons (as long as they don’t taste too almond-y).

Do you have any resolutions for 2015, blogging or otherwise? Whatever your plans are, I wish you every success and happiness for the New Year.
