I’ve been writing on my blog since October 2012 and when I first started, I didn’t know if I’d actually keep it going for more than one month. Actually, I really enjoyed writing my weekly posts, and started to feel like a real blogger after notching up 500 followers at the start of the year.
I joined a couple of blogging groups on Facebook, and people on those encouraged me to engage with brands and PR agencies and do some freelance writing to get experience of writing editorial content.
Slowly my followers on the blog, Twitter and Facebook started to creep up, and I began to get invited to events and to review products.
I realised that if I want to take the blog seriously then I need to self-host it so that I have freedom to update the look and feel and functionality. The technical migration sounded a bit … well, techie … but actually it was surprisingly easy to manage, and after half a day I seem to be pretty well migrated across.
Over the coming days I’ll be redirecting the old blog to here – hopefully everything should be relatively seamless for my followers, but if you do encounter any issues then contact me at tracy@itsnoteasybeinggreedy.com and I’ll try and figure out what has gone wrong.
